VDL Hapro bv is a Dutch manufacturer of sunbeds. The highest standard in design, technology and an innovative mentality is combined with the prosperity of expertise, loyalty and commitment of all employees of the company. This results in a leading position in both markets, providing inventive products for consumer use.
VDL Hapro bv is a member of VDL Groep. VDL Groep is an international industrial company focused on the development, production and sale of semi-finished products, buses & coaches and other finished products. It is a conglomerate of flexible, independent companies, each with its own specialty. The strength of VDL Groep lies in the mutual co-operation between the companies.
In the subcontracting division, VDL specialises in metalworking, mechatronic systems and system supply, plastics processing and surface treatment. The car assembly division includes the production of passenger cars for third parties. The bus & coach division includes coaches, chassis modules, public transport buses, mini & midi buses and second-hand buses. The finished products division comprises suspension systems for the automotive industry, heating, cooling and air-technical systems, systems for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry, production automation systems, systems for the agricultural sector, sunbeds and roof boxes, container handling equipment, waste handling vehicles, cigar-making and packaging machines, components for bulk handling and dust extraction installations and systems for explosion and fire protection.
Today VDL Groep is a trend-setter in the supplies sector, the only large automaker and bus manufacturer in the Netherlands and a producer of a whole range of finished products. The common thread found throughout is the combination of metal and technology. The enterprise began in 1953 with five employees and a modest turnover and grew to become a conglomerate of 93 operating companies, spread throughout 19 countries with almost 15,000 employees, and a turnover of 3.2 billion euros in 2016. But even today, VDL Groep is a regular family company, in which the new generation – Wim van der Leegte’s three children – prepare for the future.
